![]() I'm definitely more partial towards slay the spire, but you may also consider asking people in the grifltands discussion page to see how they feel.Griftlands is a roguelike deck-building game with role-playing story elements in a science fiction setting with Moebius-like cyberpunk artstyle, developed and published by Klei Entertainment. Grfitland's augment system is like slay the spire's relic system, but there aren't too many different augments and you don't get very many of them and this really holds it back for me.Īnother reason I'd recommend slay the spire over griftlands is that griftlands is still in beta and slay the spire has a mod community for it and some pretty good mods. In the 4-5 runs I did of griftlands it never felt like it was all that different to the last run. The relics and card pool lead to far more variance on a run-to-run basis. I think slay the spire is far more interesting than griftlands. I've done a few brawls and they take like 2-3 hours for me. The first time I played through the game, the normal mode took me like 7-8 hours for a run. Because it has a story it needs time to deliver it, which increases the run time. ![]() It has some procedural differences you'll notice as you do multiple runs. The story in griftlands is fine, it's nothing remarkable but it's not bad by any means. Griftlands has a main mode and a brawl mode, and the brawl mode is a lot better because it's the same as the normal mode but 2-3 times as fast. It has a story but it's nowhere near as good or interesting as thronebreaker, but it plays very similar to slay the spire. Griftlands is kind of in the middle between the two games. You can rush through and complete a run in like 20-30 minutes which I find to be pretty nice since it's often a game I play just to pass time if I'm waiting for something. ![]() Slay the Spire is just a roguelike deckbuilder, there's not much, if any, story to find here. Also you don't draft cards, you unlock them and adjust your deck accordingly. It plays like gwent, so it's a different playstyle than the other two games. Thronebreaker for instance isn't really that replayable, but it's a fantastic single player story driven card game. It kind of depends on what exactly you're looking for. I've also played through all of thronebreaker. ![]()
